Alocasia is an amazing tropical plant with arrowhead-shaped leaves. These amazing, veined leaves come in red, bronze, blue-green, and purple. Alocasia plants are regarded as toxic and should be kept away from pets and children.

Keep the soil moist spring through fall when the plant is actively growing. It must be watered moderately in winter, which will allow the soil to become almost dry between watering. Nourish every 2 weeks spring through fall with a balanced (such as 10-10-10 NPK) water-soluble fertilizer diluted by half. Do not nourish in winter. Divide rhizomes in spring and pot in different containers. Keep the top exterior part of the rhizome above the soil line so that the developing stems don’t rot at the soil level.
